Introduction

Ford automobile was founded by Henry Ford, a young man who spent most of his spare time in a small machine shop which he had equipped himself. He constructed his first engine in 1878 at the age of 15 years old. After a three-year apprenticeship, he worked between operating and repairing steam engines. He became an engineer with Edison Illuminatunf company, where after a promotion, he had enough money and time for his experiments and contributions.

The Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903, with Henry Ford as Vice President and Chief Engineer. The first car was sold on 23 July 1903, and Henry Ford became President three years later.

Henry Ford and his son Edsel acquired all the minority stockholders' interests in 1919 and became the company’s sole owners. The Ford script trademark was registered in 1909 and used on all Ford cars until 1910.

 

Ford Motor Company is the 5th largest automobile manufacturer in the world, and it is the biggest company in the UK that, has over 550 authorisations and seven locations. Ford holds an annual revenue of $160.33 billion and a Market capitalisation of 

$33.46 billion.
